About Brian

Brian is a shareholder and founder of Scheppach Bauer PC.  He has been practicing for more than 15 years, specializing in complex business litigation. 

Brian’s practice is concentrated in civil litigation, trial work and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on real estate disputes, including disputes over real estate purchase agreements, lease agreements, and construction contracts.  These matters have involved a wide range of issues such as option rights and rights of first refusal, common area issues, use restrictions, termination rights, operating covenants, property damage claims, unlawful detainers, mechanics’ liens, and indemnity issues.

Brian also has significant experience in labor and employment disputes, insurance coverage issues, and unfair competition and trade regulation cases, including those brought under California’s UCL.  He has been published in the FinTech Weekly and served as a speaker at the online lending conference Lend360.

Prior to forming Scheppach Bauer PC, Brian was counsel at Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble, Mallory & Natsis, LLP.  Brian is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in California.

Education

Brian received his J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law where he was honored with the Order of the Coif. He earned his B.A. in history, cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine.


During law school, Brian served as a judicial extern to the Honorable John E. Ryan, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Ninth Circuit.
