About Thorey

Thorey is a shareholder and founder of Scheppach Bauer PC.  She has been practicing law for more than 15 years, specializing in employment counseling and litigation.  Thorey approaches each matter with a strong desire to obtain the best possible results for her clients.  With a strong motivation to win, she examines each case thoroughly from the outset in order to devise the best strategy and to avoid unwanted surprises down the road.

Thorey has represented clients in all manner of employment disputes in both state and federal court, including discrimination, retaliation, and harassment under state and federal laws, complex wage-and-hour class actions, and employment-related tort claims .  Thorey has counseled clients regarding compensation structures, severance agreements and employment contracts (including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements), drug testing and background checks, and all manner of workplace policies.

Prior to forming Scheppach Bauer PC, Thorey worked at a boutique employment-law firm representing management exclusively. Thorey started her career as an associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP (Orange County).  Thorey is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts of California.


Professional Activities & Community

Selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers (2009-2011, 2015-2016)

Thorey is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and Co-Chair of the Community Outreach Committee (2022-2024).

Thorey volunteers to assist welfare needs of those in her area, including by assisting with local food banks. Thorey is also active in her children’s PTA, serving on the board since 2015. Thorey supports Women for Women, International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting women in war-torn countries learn a skill or gain an education for a more productive future.

Education

Thorey graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Loyola Law School, where she was a Sayre Macneil Scholar, Vice President of the St. Thomas More Honors Society, and served as an editor for the International and Comparative Law Review.  Thorey received a B.A. in History from the University of California, Irvine, where she graduated with honors.

During law school, Thorey externed for the Honorable David O. Carter, district judge for the Central District of California.
